At only 11 months MAX - from the King Philip kennel has taken his first group placement - Group 4 at the Cavite Club show this weekend. Max is a great little show dog. We have some nice puppies out of his father "Opera" the number one smooth chihuahua in the Philippines. A great win and agreat start to a big career.

John Wayne - the American Champion Chin Import to the Philippines takes Group 3 at the recent Cavite Club all-breed show - a top winning Japanese Chin comes to the Philippines and goes well in the ring. Thank you to the judges who are able to recognize a single entry in the ring and give it a top placement.

Sandy, our female whippet took Winner's Bitch, Reserve in Breed, and Opposite Sex in Breed this past Saturday at the Cavite Club All-Breed show - a great win over many very nice dogs and bitches. The only dog she did not beat was Magic - our South African import - who went BOB whippet and Group 2. Both are great wins for the breed. We now have puppies out of Magic - some very nice bitch puppies that we would like to place in show homes in Asia.

Whippets have been in the Philippines for many years - they are popular amongst many of the more influential part of society. The whippet's grace, poise, and most obvious characteristics, as being a "dog of distinction" has made it a popular dog for this group. There are a number of people who show regularly; and of course KAWANA is one that is consistently in the winners' circle. Kawana's Sandy of Highmarcs took Winner's Bitch, Best of Winners, Reserve in Breed, and Group 2 at the recent PCCI show in Manila - she took all of this at the tender age of 7 months - and under a hound specialist Linda Stevens from Australia. A great way to go in her first shows as an adult. She has won many Baby Puppy in Groups on the way to becoming an "adult" - one to look out for in the future.

"John Wayne" has arrived in Manila to continue his show career. Michaela thanks her friends in the USA for allowing JW to come so far away from home. JW combines the best of Chin lines from Japan and the USA. He won well in the States and now will be shown here in Manila. We hope that he will also meet some nice Chin ladies here and improve the quality of Chins in this part of the world. 

Max - "Phil Ch King Philip's Pint Size Boy" - won best of breed on 21 March 2009 at the PCCI All-Breed show under Linda Stevens of Australia. This was his first time out as a Champion and at age 10 months - and over many top notch imported champions was a great success. His father "Opera" (Phil Hall of Fame IN/TAI Ch Opera of Chao Kuo Feng) is a top winning smooth.
